You can improve the charging performance of the chargers connected to your infrastructure by activating Power Sharing.
Power Sharing distributes the electrical energy equally among all interconnected chargers, resulting in more efficient charging activity for all connected chargers.
1. Compatible Wallbox chargers
Find below the list of Wallbox chargers compatible with Power Sharing:
- Pulsar Plus
- Pulsar Max
- Commander 2
- Copper SB
2. Enabling Power Sharing
Follow these steps to activate Power Sharing:
- Ensure your Wallbox charger and myWallbox app have the latest version (you can check its version in your Play Store).
- Log into the myWallbox app by filling in your credentials, or register if you do not have an account yet.
- Connect to your charger via Bluetooth.
- Select your charger and stay within its Bluetooth range during all the following steps. If you did not link your charger to your myWallbox account yet, please follow these instructions.
- Once your charger and myWallbox App are synchronized (the charging wheel will turn green on your app), go to Settings.
- Click Upgrades.
- Click the Power Sharing icon.
- Indicate the Number of chargers that are present on the installation.
- In the Max. current per phase field, specify the main breaker-rated current or subscribed current (in amps), whichever is lower.
- Define the Min. current per charger (in amps) each charger will operate.
- Click Save and ensure that the status “Primary charger with all secondary chargers paired” appears.
3. Status messages
Once the charger has been powered on and configured with Power Sharing in the myWallbox app, it can show status messages in different areas of the myWallbox app. These different status messages help you understand eventual charging errors.
Below you will find a recap of all the messages that can display, where you can find them in the app and their explanation:
Status text | Shown in | Description |
PRIMARY CONFIGURED WITH ALL SECONDARIES PAIRED | App Settings | Only on the Primary unit. The network has been successfully set up. All chargers are connected to the Primary. |
POWER SHARING ACTIVATED | App charger dashboard | The network has been successfully set up. The unit is connected to the primary unit. |
PRIMARY CONFIGURED WITH SOME SECONDARIES NOT PAIRED | App Settings | Only on the Primary unit. The network has been successfully set up. Some Secondary units are not connected. Verify that the setting “number of chargers” in the Primary unit coincides with the number of chargers in the system. Verify wiring. |
UNCONFIGURED POWER SHARING | App charger dashboard | This is the initial status after powering on the set-up. The unit is paired with the Primary unit, but it detects that it is pending to be configured. The chargers will blink in red. |
PRIMARY NOT CONFIGURED | App Settings | This is the initial status after powering on the set-up. The unit is paired with the Primary unit, but it detects that it is pending to be configured. The chargers will blink in red. |
PRIMARY NOT PAIRED | App Settings | Only on the Secondary unit. The number of chargers in the configuration is inconsistent with those connected with the Primary. Review sections 2 and 3 to ensure all steps are understood. |
SECONDARY PAIRED WITH NETWORK | App Settings | Secondary connected with the Primary. The installation has been successful. |
SECONDARY NOT PAIRED WITH NETWORK | App Settings | The secondary is not successfully connected with the primary on the Power Sharing network. This state is reached after 30 seconds without successful communication. In this state, the Pulsar Plus will have a fast-blinking Halo. Remember that the secondary can only charge at 6 A in this state. |
POWER SHARING ACTIVATED WAITING ASSIGNATION | App charger dashboard | Not enough power available for this charger. If the power has already been reduced to the minimum, the newly plugged cars will enter this state. Once the system has enough power available (e.g. a car has been fully charged), it will start charging. The charger will be slowly blinking. |
