How to Use Phase Optimisation for Solar Charging in the Wallbox App

The Wallbox ecosystem offers a unique feature that allows you to switch between 1-phase and 3-phase charging modes when using Solar Charging. By leveraging this feature, you can ensure that your Wallbox charger allows your solar system to meet the minimum power requirement more quickly, allowing charging sessions to start sooner and with less solar power input.

This feature is only available for 3-phase Pulsar Pro and ABL Pulsar chargers.

Switching between 1-phase and 3-phase modes significantly impacts the surplus solar power required to begin charging:

  • 1-phase:
    • Full Green Mode: A minimum surplus of 6A (~1.38 kW) is required to start charging.
    • Eco Mode: A minimum surplus of 2A (~460 W)is required to start charging.
  • 3-phase:
    • Full Green Mode: A minimum surplus of 18A (~4.14 kW) is required to start charging.
    • Eco Mode: A minimum surplus of 6A (~1.38 kW)is required to start charging.

Step-by-Step Guide to Switch Phases for Solar Charging:

  1. Log in the Wallbox App:
  • Launch the Wallbox app and log in to your account.
  1. Access Charger Settings:
  • Navigate to the charger you want to configure.
  • Tap on the charger settings icon.
  1. Define your settings:
  • Under Energy Features, tap “Solar Charging”.
  • Tap “Active Phases”.
  • You can choose between “1-phase charging” or “3-phase charging” based on your needs. Once the feature is enabled, Solar Charging can use the surplus from all 3 phases to charge in 1 phase, decreasing the minimum surplus requirement to start charging.
  • Tap “Save.” To charge again in 3 phases, you must unplug and plug the vehicle.
