    1. Thanks for your comment,

Yes, our Quasar is compatible with Leaf Gen 1.

  1. The solution is perfect ! I suggest you to sell the charger with two socket: one for Chademo and another for CCS, especially in Europe where we use mostly CCS.

    1. Good morning,

Thanks for your comment and input.

Wallbox Quasar will be soon available both with CCS and CHAdeMO connector.

      Regards,

  2. Good morning,

We have an off-grid home and would like to extend its battery capacity using a bidirectional charger. We have a Hyundai Kona Electric with Combo CCS plug, will your next model Quasar-CCS be compatible with it? Thanks!

    1. Good morning and thanks for your comment,

The Quasar CCS model will be available soon, but keep in mind that CCS connector does not allow bidirectional charging. Any charger in the market will allow bidirectional charging, as the communication protocol is still not ready. This is expected by 2024.

  3. Hello, I wonder how Quasar works during an outage of the publice grid. The Sunny Boy Inverter of my PV plant is diconnected from the public grid during a blackout in order to protect the life of the repair teams. How does the Quasar behave during the blackout?

    1. Dear Dieter,

      Thanks for your comment.

Nowadays and according to regulations, the Quasar has been specially designed to prevent working in an isolation mode, it means, if there’s NO grid the Quasar will stop automatically the (dis-)charge process.

In case in the same mains circuit of the Quasar there’s an inverter keeping the grid during the outage, then, the Quasar will continue (dis-)charging since.

We’re working to include the isolated mode function into the Quasar’s features in the near future.

  4. Will it give a quasar with higher performance e.g. 22 kw ?
    for a faster loding process.

    1. Dear Uli,

      Thanks for your comment.

A 22 kW version will be released during 2020, to allow faster speeds both for charge and discharge. We will keep all our customers informed.

      Regards,

  5. Hallo!
is Quasar compatible with all Chademo Charge EV for Example: Mitsubishi MEV, Citroen C-Zero,Citroen Berlingo, Nissan e-NV200, Peugeot iON, Peugeot Partner Electric?

    Regards

    1. Dear Jan,

      Thanks for your comment.

All the EV’s with CHAdeMO connector will be compatible with the CHAdeMO version of the Quasar. Once we release the CCS version, as well the CCS’s EV’s will be compatible for sure.

      Best regards,

  6. Could I have a preliminary date for when the CCS-version is ready to be purchased?
Will there be an option to have BOTH CHAdeMO and CCS on the same charger, either via 2 cables or with an adapter?

    1. Dear Mr.Stefan,

      Thanks for your comment.

The Quasar is the smallest and most affordable DC bidirectional charger on the market today. We created this product because we believe connecting electric vehicles to homes and grids is the key to unlocking more efficient energy management and the transition to a world powered by renewable energy more quickly.

Despite of we understand a CCS-version will not achieve all of the goals of the Quasar until the protocol is bidirectional, a CCS-version is expected by the end of this year.

By having the two connectors, size and cost of the Quasar would be increased. This option is not currently in the roadmap of the product and the use of an additional adapter is not aligned with the current EV charging standards but, for sure, we’ll study the feasibility of having a two connectors version.

      Best regards,

      Wallbox
