Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.1 What is OCPP?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) is an industry-standard open protocol used for communication between electric vehicle (EV) chargers and charging management systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wallbox chargers support OCPP 1.6j, ensuring compatibility and efficient operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.2 Acronyms and Conventions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Various acronyms are used throughout this guide. Compatibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.1 Compatible Wallbox Chargers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All new Wallbox chargers support OCPP 1.6j.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re unsure whether your older model supports OCPP, please contact Wallbox Customer Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.1 Compatible Wallbox EMS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>OCPP-enabled Wallbox chargers are compatible with Wallbox EMS features:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.wallbox.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/how-to-activate-and-use-eco-smart\/\">Solar Charging<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.wallbox.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/how-to-activate-dynamic-power-sharing-for-your-charger\/\">Dynamic Load Management<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.wallbox.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/how-to-activate-power-sharing\/\">Static Load Management<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.wallbox.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/how-to-activate-v2h-vehicle-to-home\/\">V2H<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When using Wallbox EMS and OCPP Smart Charging simultaneously, charging limits will follow the most restrictive settings to ensure optimal performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. OCPP Activation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.1 Before starting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To connect your Wallbox charger to your CSMS using OCPP, ensure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your charger has an active internet connection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your provider has provided you with assurance of compatibility with the chargepoint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Important Note: Wallbox cannot guarantee correct performance if your charger and CSMS haven&#8217;t passed a Factory Acceptance Test successfullysuccessfully passed a Factory Acceptance Test. If issues occur, contact sales@wallbox.com or your sales representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.2 OCPP setup<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.2.1 Wallbox account setup<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.wallbox.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/how-to-download-the-mywallbox-mobile-app\/\">Download the Wallbox app<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you do not yet own a Wallbox account, create one using this <a href=\"https:\/\/support.wallbox.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/how-to-create-a-mywallbox-account-and-login-from-the-portal\/\">guide<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add your charger to your account following this <a href=\"https:\/\/support.wallbox.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/how-to-add-your-charger-to-your-account-by-scanning-its-qr-code-with-the-mywallbox-app\/\">article<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.2.2 Charger Internet Connection Setup<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on your charger model, connect it to the internet using one of the following methods:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ethernet \u2013 plug in your Ethernet connector, and the Internet connection will start automatically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wi-Fi \u2013 follow this <a href=\"https:\/\/support.wallbox.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/how-to-connect-your-charger-to-the-wi-fi-with-the-mywallbox-app\/\">article<\/a> to connect your charger using Wi-Fi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mobile Connectivity \u2013 configure mobile connectivity in the wallbox App<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using OCPP with a VPN<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Check the network security section in the article <a href=\"https:\/\/support.wallbox.com\/en\/knowledge-base\/how-to-restore-your-charger\/\">How to Set Up Wallbox Chargers for Optimal Cloud Communication<\/a> for instructions on how to set up your VPN to allow connectivity to Wallbox services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.2.3 OCPP Setup and Activation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Once your charger is connected to the internet:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to the app and select your charger.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm your charger is connected to the Cloud (internet).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap Settings (cogwheel icon).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll to External Management and select OCPP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose your OCPP provider from the dropdown menu to auto-fill the URL field.\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If your provider isn\u2019t listed, manually enter the CSMS URL provided by your OCPP provider.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your Charge Point ID (provided by your OCPP provider).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter a password, if required by your provider.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Your charger will restart automatically. An OCPP icon will appear on your charger\u2019s app overview screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the OCPP settings don\u2019t appear, contact Wallbox Customer Service to check charger compatibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.2.4 Security Profile Level 2<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Security Profile Level 2 provides enhanced security using a TLS certificate. To activate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Request the CA root certificate from your OCPP provider.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect to your charger via Bluetooth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload the certificate through the Wallbox app to securely authenticate your charger with the management system.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.4 OCPP connection status<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Wallbox app will display the OCPP connection status clearly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Connected<\/strong>: Successful communication with your CSMS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Connecting<\/strong>: Attempting to establish connection; if persistent, verify settings or contact provider.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Connection Rejected<\/strong>: Connection rejected by the CSMS; verify with your provider.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Certificate Validation Failed<\/strong>: Incorrect TLS certificate; recheck or consult your provider.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.5 Charger Features\u2019 Use &amp; Availability<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once connected via OCPP, some features must be managed via your CSMS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>User access management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Charger current limits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OCPP features configuration and specific functionalities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wallbox app still allows essential tasks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Software updates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restart and restore the charger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Network configurations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>External MID meter setup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EMS features (Load Management, Solar Charging)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Halo light stand-by<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.6 Using a charger connected via OCPP<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Unlocking a charger<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>When your charger is connected via OCPP to your CSMS, users will be able to unlock the charger by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Using an RFID card<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trigger a command from your OCPP Provider App or Portal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AuthEnabled in CSMS<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>If AuthEnabled is set to FALSE by your provider, the charger won\u2019t require any authorisation to start a charge. By connecting the EV gun, the charger will start charging according to the car\u2019s demand. The charger status LED will remain Yellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OCPP connection status remains in \u201cConnecting\u201d<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Check the network connection status and setup of OCPP parametersnetwork connection status and OCPP parameters setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">I can not start a new charge.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Check OCPP connection status, RFID authorisation and Charge Point availability with your Charge Point Operator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">I can not unlock the charger with the RFID card.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Confirm your RFID card is authorised by your CSMS. When OCPP is active, RFID UID is read as little-endian, hexadecimal, with no separators.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1. Overview 1.1 What is OCPP?
