Keep your charger always updated to enjoy and take advantage of all the functionalities it offers you.
Wallbox always wants to provide its customers the best products, services and user experience. Therefore, we consider it a must that all chargers installed at our clients’ premises are always up to date in order to:
- Ensure the perfect and robust behaviour of all our customers’ Wallbox devices
- Give our customers the possibility to access all new functionalities that Wallbox develops
All our chargers allow this functionality as a part of the full management of the charging experience we want to provide to our end users.
2.- Firmware update of a Pulsar Plus charger
Below you will find the instructions showing how to update your charger’s firmware. Before starting, please make sure you have the latest version of the Wallbox app downloaded on your phone by checking your mobile phone’s App Store or Play Store. Also, please ensure that the EV gun is not plugged into the car during this process.
Note: To update the firmware of your Pulsar Plus charger, ensure that your charger is connected to Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi network is not available, you can connect your charger to the internet with your smart phone using a Wi-Fi hotspot. See the Connecting your Charger to the Wi-Fi section below.
1.- Open the Wallbox app.
2.- If you are not automatically logged in please fill in your credentials:
3.- Once logged in select your charger:
5.- Your app will then link to your charger.
6.- In the app, press the Configuration icon:
7.- If there is an update available, a message at the bottom of the screen will appear. Please click this message:
8- The App will show all the relevant information during the process:
During the update process, the charger’s HALO will turn white and rotate clockwise. Once the update is finished, a notification in the app will appear stating so.
VERY IMPORTANT: Never turn off the charger, nor log out of the app during the update process. The interruption of this process will leave the charger inoperative and a visit from a technician would be necessary.
9.- Whenever you want to check the firmware version of your charger, you can do this in the Wallbox app. In the Configuration menu, select “Charger Info”, and you will see the current version of your device:
3.- Connecting your Charger to the Wi-Fi Hotspot
If you do not have a Wi-Fi network available, you can create a Wi-Fi network with your mobile phone data using a Wi-Fi hotspot. Here are the instructions on how to do so with your phone: Note: Switching on the hotspot for the first time fills in default settings, like a network name and password.
3.1 Connecting your Charger to Wi-Fi hotspot with iPhone
- On the iPhone that you want to connect to, go to:
Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot or Settings > Personal Hotspot
- Make sure that the Personal Hotspot is on.
- Then verify the Wi-Fi password and name of the phone.
- Stay on this screen until you have connected your Wallbox charger to the Wi-Fi network.
On the charger want to connect, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and look for your iPhone in the list. Then tap the Wi-Fi network to join. If asked, enter the password for your Personal Hotspot.
3.2 Connecting your Charger to Wi-Fi hotspot with Android
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap the Network and Internet option .
- Select Hotspot and tethering.
- Tap on Wi-Fi hotspot.
This page has options for turning the hotspot feature on and off. Additionally, you can change thenetwork name, security type, password, and more
On the charger you want to connect, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and look for your Android phone in the list. Then tap the Wi-Fi network to join. If asked, enter the password for your Personal Hotspot.
