How to update your chargers’ software?

In order to benefit from the latest updates and ensure the correct functioning of your charger, it is crucial to keep its software up to date. 

The myWallbox app will let you know automatically when a new software version is released, additionally, you can check the last software version for each charger in our Release Notes section.

  1. Make sure that you are running the last myWallbox app version by checking your smartphone’s App Store/Play Store.
  2. Open the myWallbox app and log in.
  3. Select your charger from the list.
  4. Ensure that your smartphone and your charger are correctly connected via Bluetooth – the mention “Ready” should appear on a green charging wheel.
  5. Make sure that your smartphone is connected to the Internet.

In case there is no Wi-Fi connection available near your charger, you can use your smartphone as an Internet hotspot.

  1. Depending on if an update is available or not:
  • If an update is available for your charger, a notification inviting you to update your charger will appear just under the charging wheel. Tap this notification and follow the process in the app to update your charger. The software update is now processing, please wait until the software update is completed and the mention “Your charger has been updated to v.X.X.XX” appears. 
  • If there is no update available but you need to check the software’s version go to Settings by tapping the gear icon > Charger info > Charger version, the mention “Software is up to date” and the version will be displayed.

In case there is no internet connection available, you can update your charger offline. The offline update feature is only available after a given software release, which depends on the charger model:

Commander 2: >= 4.6.5
Copper SB: >= 4.5.5
Pulsar Plus: >=4.6.0
Copper: >= 4.3.0

In case you are performing the update offline, do not leave the update screen or close the app, as this will interrupt the update process and might damage your charger.

Pulsar Max, installed with software version 5.8.25 or above, is compliant with the Electrical Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021.
